1. The Anatomy of Pivot Pin Failure
Under heavy backhoe excavation, pivot pins endure alternating bending fatigue and extreme shearing forces. Pins that are through-hardened become brittle and snap, while untreated pins wear out within weeks.
2. Why RRE Uses Controlled Induction Case Hardening
We forge our pins from EN9, EN18 and EN19 alloy steels. Using high-frequency induction furnaces, we achieve a rock-hard outer case (58–62 HRC to 3.0mm depth) while preserving a ductile, shock-absorbing inner core (30–35 HRC).
